"From afar, Cimarron Creek seems like an idyllic town tucked in the Texas Hill Country. But when former schoolteacher Lydia Crawford steps onto its dusty streets in 1880, she finds a town with a deep-seated resentment of Northerners--like her. Lydia won't let that get her down, though. All will be well when she's reunited with her fiancé. But when she discovers he has disappeared--and that he left behind a pregnant wife--Lydia is at a loss about what to do next. The handsome sheriff urges her to trust him, but can she trust anyone in this town where secrets are as prevalent as bluebonnets in spring?"--Amazon.com.

"A novel as full of heart as ever, A Stolen Heart embraces themes redemption, love, and forgiveness, despite the odds.

I’ve never read a goose girl retelling where the main character is the “servant who replaced her noble” character. I’ll be honest, I didn’t much care for this fairy tale before, but A Stolen Heart has given it life it never had for me!

I want to gush about all these characters! First, King Cassius—a wonderful best friend and a man who has so much on his shoulders, yet remains kind and just. Then Vallyn—our resident broody, paranoid, captain of the guard (and king’s personal protector and honorary brother), and fae with a heart too big for his own good who has me rooting for him on every page. And Callista—a character I grew to LOVE, despite her being the villain of the last novel. She’s sweet, passionate about her family, brave, clever, has a cute little pet griffon, and has been through far too much in the world, yet she persists.

This book tackles topics like taking the time to rest, forgiving others even though forgiveness is not deserved, what it means to keep promises, and learning to love and trust despite a past of suffering.

A Stolen Heart is also full of romance, sibling bonds, unintentional fae bindings, magic and curses—basically everything you want out of a fantasy retelling. Selina R. Gonzalez has done it again, everyone!"
