"Usually I'm not a fan of the whole 'Left an abusive partner, on the run' stories. This didn't feel too rushed. Most of the time I tend to cringe when the woman recovers so quickly I start to think that maybe it wasn't exactly as bad as they say it is. Which is bad of me, but I don't like that sudden switch in character.

This was written well. Clarisse didn't make a sudden recovery. The only thing that did get to me was how fast the guys were suddenly overprotective. Even before they found out who she was. It seemed too quick on their part, but in the end, it did all work out.

The another reason I tend to avoid these stories, is they all seem to be the same with the partner who is tracking the abused woman. This, unfortunately, was very predictable. I even skimmed over parts of it. I didn't care for the ending, but it wasn't horribly bad. I was just hoping for a little something more."
