"Thinking back and writing this review a month later, this duo-logy, compared to Arimnestos of Platea (The Killer of Men series everyone should read) at the end of the day wasn't as satisfying. Alexanor, high priest, battle field medic and soldier, provided a really interesting contrast to the different facets of war, but once I finished both books, they seemed almost forgettable. Philopmoen, Achille's returned, seemed rather 1 dimensional to me. I did appreciate the logistics of what a nightmare actually getting, funding, and supplying troops was, this isn't told enough, other then "the cavalry have arrived!". <br/><br/>"
