"3.75. This was a fast-paced thriller with just the right touch of mystery to keep me hooked.
I really enjoyed the twists—even though I probably should’ve seen them coming, the author still managed to catch me off guard. Another highlight for me was the globe-trotting aspect. Traveling around the world is one of my favorite elements in a spy thriller; it gives the story that cinematic action-movie feel I love.
The action-packed fight scenes were another standout. Since we can’t visually see the fights, I appreciated how thoroughly they were described—it really brought the intensity to life.
I also liked the internal conflict with Mark trying to turn over a new leaf. It was almost addictive to see how he kept getting drawn back into the life he’d left behind. As a character, Mark was fine overall. He’s got a bigger heart than you’d expect, but the darkness within him made him compelling to follow.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read for me!"
