Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods

"I liked the idea of this book, but at times, I found myself asking, “is this important?” to some of the descriptions that Suzanne Collins wrote. I love how intricate Suzanne can be as a writer and the way she can paint a picture, however in the Curse of the Warmbloods I wondered if she was trying to get to a specific word count for some chapters. The plot of this book was a fun one, however I felt that it sometimes seemed to drag on where there wasn’t anything really propelling the story further. There were scenes that didn’t really provide any real depth to the story or the characters. But when the action or the characters insights were on display, it was great. I am going to keep on the series and I understand how this will lead to the next book. I am glad I read it, but so far it was the weakest overall, in my opinion. "
