He had her, he lost her...and he'll do anything to win her back. Powerful, brilliant, and ambitious, Dominic Davenport clawed his way up from nothing to become the King of Wall Street. He has everything--a beautiful home, a beautiful wife, and more money than he could spend in a lifetime. But no matter how much he accumulates, he's never satisfied. In his endless quest for more, he drives away the only person who saw him as enough. It isn't until she's gone that he realizes there may be more to life than riches and glory...but by then, it may be too late. *** Kind, intelligent, and thoughtful, Alessandra Davenport has played the role of trophy wife for years. She stood by her husband while he built an empire, but now that they've reached the top, she realizes he's no longer the man she fell for. When it becomes clear that she'll always come second to his work, she finally takes charge of her life and puts herself first--even if it means leaving the only man she's ever loved. But what she didn't count on was his refusal to let her go...or for him to fight for their marriage, no matter what it takes.

"“ but I broke her heart once, and I’d let her break my heart a thousand times in return if it meant that one date, she found her way back to me “ omg. I didn’t expect to get my heart broken from this book. It was such a good second chance romance. And I really do love a man who GROVELS. I couldn’t put the book down. "
"It took me forever to finish this book. It felt like it dragged on and on. I honestly just wanted to hurry up and get over it already, so I barely registered that last couple of chapters. However I do like the idea she was going for. This is the first BIG second chance romance I have read. I do think that he deserved that chance but I also 100% see it from Alessandra’s point to. "
"Another good one by Ana Huang. This story pulled my heartstrings and crushed my heart multiple times. This story circles on the fact that “One would only appreciate a persons worth and value once they are gone”. There were parts that made me a little confused that Alessandra was firm when she said it’s not the physical intimacy that matters but then she always seeks for it in Dominic 😵💫 but overall it’s a nice plot with just the right amount of drama and happy ever after. 👍🏻😊"
"I did enjoy this book, the ending was EXACLTY how I would want it to be!
But it did aggravate me how she kept giving him false hope when he was clearly trying very hard. As soon as she would give him some hope she would push him away completely shattering him again as if he wasn’t beating himself up enough. I understand he did wrong, but he was trying and her taking him back then dropping him again constantly was almost heartbreaking to read. For a while it felt like she was just taking advantage of the things he was doing for her with no intentions of getting back with him, again giving him False hope.
She clearly was going threw a lot on her own, but I felt like she rushed the divorce to soon knowing that she still felt a spark, knowing that there could be a reconciliation if she would have let him instead of push him away constantly. I mean 2 months after the divorce they were still all over each other so really what was the point? All the lawyers and everything involved money spent, for basically nothing!
Besides all of this I did enjoy the book the plot twist I NEVER seen coming and was a very good addition to the book that kept me reading! They were genuine characters with lots of emotions and troubles. Him with a rough rip bringing her not made the relationship stronger in my opinion he needed her in all the ways, and it showed through the book. I read this in one day as well as the other 2 books before this one in the series and cannot wait to read the last book in the series!
In conclusion Ana never disappoints and I love how she strings in characters from the twisted series giving us an addition of their lives now after the book. "
"SOME SPOILERS. This book was completely overrated. The entire book felt like a filler episode and was almost pointless to read. Anyone could guess the plot from the very beginning and I was only surprised with Roman’s limited appearance and actions (within the last 40 pages). Although some who read this book were impressed by Dominic’s love confessions, I was bored and honestly upset at Alessandra’s final decision. If I were Alessandra, I would have left and never come back. I like the writing style of the book, but the lack of action (the romance was itself was fine) in the story itself was not for me. I have loved all of Ana’s previous books, but struggled to finish this one. Crossing my fingers for King Of Sloth 🤞🏻"
