"Going into this I knew it was going to be a difficult read. We have all been taught about this war in school but reading about it in this format is a whole different world of emotions. It was truly a heartbreaking and gut wrenching story. I think they should have kids read this book while studying the subject. It's a book everyone should read. I have nothing else to say other than READ IT."
"This book was definitely a beautiful story about the Holocaust, but in all honesty I didn’t love the writing style of the author. I know it was translated to English which maybe means some of the words were translated in a way that misconstrued the true meaning, but I didn’t love the style of writing. Still a great read and INCREDIBLE story of persistence and survival. "
"Loved the descriptions of the camp and the side characters that get the spotlight to show the whole experience. The push and pull between the SS and the prisoners. The black market. The way the children think. And all from the perspective of a girl trying to make it through life and the camps. Loved it all"
