"Birchall manages to design a cheer squad of fully supportive chums and a sexy, sensitive love interest in this witty, relatable tale that doesn’t fall prey to the trite rom-com formula you may be expecting." ––USA TodayFOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL meets THE WEDDING PARTY...Freya Scott is getting married. Her wedding to Matthew, her long-term boyfriend, is the first of eight in her calendar this year, and as someone who prides herself on being meticulously organized, Freya is intent on making it the perfect day to remember. But when Matthew calls things off hours before they walk down the aisle, Freya’s entire life plan goes up in smoke. Humiliated and heartbroken, the last thing she wants is to attend a summer of other peoples’ nuptials on her own.Fortunately, her friends have an idea: together they devise a series of outrageous challenges for Freya to complete at each event, designed to distract her from Matthew and what might have been. From getting stuck in an old church bathroom and needing to be rescued by the vicar to making out with a barman at a French chateau, Freya realizes that despite herself, she might just be having fun.By the time the final wedding arrives, she will discover that the road to a happy ending sometimes has unexpected detours, that “I do” is only the beginning––and that perhaps her own love story isn’t over just yet.

"This was cute and i enjoyed the pacing. Was grown up but still fun. Predictable in the sense that she ends up with the guy, but i liked how it happened. Would definitely read it again."

"This was such a fun and funny story. A story about getting over a very heartbreaking and tough breakup and thanks to her friends she's able to survive the wedding season in a very entertaining way."

"Romcoms are sometimes hard for me to review, simply because they are like watching trash reality TV. I read them as an escape and know that I don’t have to think hard about what’s happening in the story.

This one was just that, easily digestible and fun to get lost in while reading…but, once I’m finished it’s gone from my mind all together.

I did think the MCs friends were amazing and wish we were all so lucky to have such a strong support group, especially when you were dumped at the alter."

"This was a MUCH needed sanity booster during an actual wedding I was in this past weekend. I love a romantic comedy that really ends up being a journey of self discovery. Finding yourself in a man is so overrated. Finding yourself to spite a man? Now that’s a hell of a premise.

This was a healthier version of that, to be fair, but all the same I enjoyed the cheekiness of it. The challenges were highly entertaining, and I got a kick out of reading them. I literally had stress hives at one point but such was the nature of the story that I couldn’t stop reading! I definitely want to check out more by this author, though let’s hope I don’t have to use it as an escape next time. I’m mostly done with family weddings for a time so fingers crossed!"

"Fast paced, hilarious, with a touch of heartbreak/drama throughout-this coming of age novel was a good read! My only complaint was that it was difficult to decipher which characters were talking at times, so if this is a deal breaker for you, I would pass. Otherwise, I enjoyed it! It was a page turner for sure."

"What do a French waiter, a bearded brewer, and a poetry spouting-estranged mother all have to common? Enter The Wedding Season!

Freya Scott’s wedding day has arrived and it’s going to be the perfect event to kick off the wedding season—that is until her fiancé drags her to a broom closet to share that she’s too “together” and “sturdy” so he is going to have to break it off.

What follows for Freya is your typical spiral—What did I do wrong? What could I have done differently? What did I do to make him change his mind.

Enter Freya’s friends who devise quirky challenges to help her break out of this spiral, make it through the wedding season , and just maybe come out a little less dizzy on the other side.

I loved this read by Katy Birchall! It’s perfect for summer, and it has me going to search out more reads by her to enjoy!"
