"This book gets three stars for being literary Ambien. I listened to the Christopher Lee audiobook and I have never slept so well in my life. It seemed to only actually get into the story in the final quarter and before was like a big preface where historical events were described as if from above instead of being conveyed on the vehicle of adventure and dialog. This seems typical of the posthumous releases where JRR had a stub of a story with a lot of surrounding notes. While Christopher is good at compiling and curratinf his father's collection of notes, he just doesn't have the chops to refine them into an engaging narrative. <br/>But that's fine. I would never have struggled though this reading it myself but Christopher Lee did the heavy lifting here fantastically and took me away to Middle Earth and put me to sleep in under 20 minutes every time."
"Amazing...its was a little hard to follow the language...but never the less I still enjoyed it ...it gave tragedy this painfully ironic feel..loved it! was glad to read something that didn't have a typical happy ending!!!!"
