Matt Haig
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Midnight Library.“A very special book that has provided a beam of hope to so many.”—DOLLY ALDERTONWHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FEEL TRULY ALIVE?Aged 24, Matt Haig's world caved in. He could see no way to go on living. This is the true story of how he came through crisis, triumphed over an illness that almost destroyed him, and learned to live again. It has helped millions of people do the same. Moving, funny, and even joyous, these are the lessons Matt learned. His reasons to stay alive. "I wrote this book because the oldest clichés remain the truest. Time heals. The bottom of the valley never provides the clearest view. The tunnel does have light at the end of it, even if we haven't been able to see it . . . Words, just sometimes, really can set you free."

"I was scared of this one since I knew it was a memoir/autobiography/self-help book (not my cup of tea) and it was about depression (something I struggle with). But I am so so grateful I read it. I felt so seen in my mental illness, I felt grateful that I was alive to read this book. I'm a little more mindful. This is a good one. Read it."
"Highly recommend to anyone struggling with anxiety, panic disorder or depression. Beautifully written. Hopeful and relatable. "

"Matt Haig has quickly become one of my favourite authors. He has a unique writing style, putting a fresh perspective on "normal" items and experiences. When I had read he was diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorders, I was curious to see how he managed them, and won the "little" victories.

I'd recommend this book to anyone who is either going through depression, feeling "blue", or even just as a "guide" to help you understand these awful feelings in someone else. It's about the little victories, and if you can use this book to help yourself, or someone close to you, do so!"
"i really enjoyed this book, i felt so seen. this book showcases depression from a realistic point of view. what it's like to have depression, what those list of clinical symptoms look like outside of a textbook. i highly recommend this book to those who have a loved one or know someone who experiences depression and/or anxiety, or just if you want to educate yourself more on the matter. i personally think it's a great mental health book. the chapters are short and sweet."
