Aminah Mae Safi
Aminah Mae Safi's Tell Me How You Really Feel is an ode to romantic comedies, following two girls on opposite sides of the social scale as they work together to make a movie and try very hard not to fall in love. The first time Sana Khan asked out a girl–Rachel Recht--it went so badly that she never did it again. Rachel is a film buff and aspiring director, and she’s seen Carrie enough times to learn you can never trust cheerleaders (and beautiful people). Rachel was furious that Sana tried to prank her by asking her on a date. But when it comes time for Rachel to cast her senior project, she realizes that there’s no more perfect lead than Sana--the girl she's sneered at in the halls for the past three years. And poor Sana--she says yes. She never did really get over that first crush, even if Rachel can barely stand to be in the same room as her.Told in alternative viewpoints and set against the backdrop of Los Angeles in the springtime, when the rainy season rolls in and the Santa Ana's can still blow--these two girls are about to learn that in the city of dreams, anything is possible--even love.

"5/5 for a book that had several scenes that I completely ate up or lines of dialogue that I felt.
And if you’re a sucker for not knowing what the title of the book is until the very end, this is for you!
Can we get an adaption of this book please? This is the kind of wlw film I want!!"
"This was a perfect sapphic book. There were complex and strong female characters and a cute golden retriever best friend.

I loved how the audiobook was narrated by the author, it felt like as a reader we really knew how she wanted us to read the book which made the experience more enjoyable.

I loved that the characters each had a clear goal that was not related to each other which helped create a strong plot outside of the love story.

I would absolutely recommend this book and audiobook.

(Got the audiobook from net galley)"

"4.2/5. As the sucker for enemy to lovers, I am hopeless for something like this. Sure for the first 168 page of the book I was mainly frustrated about our MC, but as the story moves one, her anger becomes more apparent (also misdirected). Sana is such a bae, she's my queenie ***, she's precious. Such an amazing dynamic written for the characters as well. Definitely would recommend."
