A Chicago cul-de-sac is about to get a new neighbor...of the demonic kind. Amy Foster considers herself lucky. After she left the city and moved to the suburbs, she found her place quickly with neighbors Liz, Jess, and Melissa, snarking together from the outskirts of the PTA crowd. One night during their monthly wine get-together, the crew concoct a plan for a clubhouse She Shed in Liz’s backyard—a space for just them, no spouses or kids allowed. But the night after they christen the She Shed, things start to feel . . . off. They didn’t expect Liz’s little home-improvement project to release a demonic force that turns their quiet enclave into something out of a nightmare. And that’s before the homeowners’ association gets wind of it. Even the calmest moms can’t justify the strange burn marks, self-moving dolls, and horrible smells surrounding their possessed friend, Liz. Together, Amy, Jess, and Melissa must fight the evil spirit to save Liz and the neighborhood . . . before the suburbs go completely to hell.

"Praise the Lord I have finished this book!!

When it comes to reading a book. I am the type of person who does massive amounts of research prior to selecting my next read. So much to the point I could basically tell you what the book is about without reading it. Well this book I went in completely blind! And man oh man was that a mistake…

The plot of this book was just non-existent. There was no turning point, no climax, no nothing. it just felt like a long long introduction until you got to the end and then bam “action” happens and the book ends, all within the last 10 pages.

The pace of this book is unbearably slow. And the unnecessary information was there just to fill in some pages. Like the carnival. What was the point of the carnival?? A gush of wind comes and scares everyone off. Bro you could have done the same effect walking the dogs instead.

The characters. Oh my lord the characters. They were so mediocre. I didn’t care about any of all. I was to the point where I could care less if Liz died or not, if Amy, Mellisa, Jess were to get all possessed. In fact, that would have made things so much more entertaining if they were.

June’s death did nothing for me. I guess the purpose of her death was to motivate Amy not to give up on Liz but it lacked in so much emotion.

The “scary” scenes were not scary at all. I am more scared to check my grades of my essays that I KNOW I did well on than I was reading this book about possession and the devil. That’s pretty bad.

Would not recommend. I really tried going in open minded!!"
