"Trigger warning: rape.

This book was very entertaining at the beginning. I was rooting for the heroine to get her revenge...

But then she did the unthinkable:

Gave up on her ploy because of "love."

Ugh!!

Love should have empowered her more, or at least after the H kicked her out of the house, she should NOT have gone back to him. But I started the sequel, and she did, she went back to the H after he humiliated her and kicked her out."
"I could not put this book down! I literally read it in about 24 hours, and at more than 400 pages, that's saying something. The book goes far beyond what was on the back cover. I have never read a Lisa Kleypas book, but now I HAVE to read more. I can't wait to read Hardy's story. I loved him and up until the end was hoping, HOPING he and Liberty would get together. But Kleypas made me believe that Gage was the right man for Liberty, even though I was still sad it didn't work out! Oh, the dilemmas!

A few things that kept this from being a five star: I felt the end was a little rushed. I would have liked a little slower pacing of the resolution. I would have also liked a little more focus on Liberty and Gage's relationship. Kleypas sets you up through the first two thirds of the book for a Liberty-Hardy happy ending, and I would have liked a little more set up for the real happy-ending.

And one nit-pick. At one point, Kleypas says Miss Marva has no children, and at another point, she says she has a daughter. I always pick up on stuff like that...no biggie, but just noticed it and it bugged me."

"This was more like a 1 1/2 stars for me. The writing was frustrating at times and the characters were flat. I couldn't find much in the way of romance with the couple... A lot of the romance happens off scene which made it hard to connect with their relationship. I was moderately annoyed that the conflicting behavior of Daniel and felt frustrated that it just resolved without any issue. I was ready for a really taboo sexy story but in the grand scheme, it didn't feel all that special. Overall I think there are other eroticas with better characters if that's what your looking for.

Upside, great representation that did make me smile."
