Kristina Georgia Snow is the perfect daughter: a gifted student, quiet, never any trouble. But on a trip to visit her absentee father, Kristina disappears and Bree takes her place. Bree is a total opposite to Kristina - she's fearless. Through a boy she meets, Bree is introduced to the monster: crank. And what begins as a wild, ecstatic ride turns into a struggle through hell for her mind, her soul and, ultimately, her life.

"Zoomed through these. "

"Though this is still sometimes a gritty read, the story of a drug addict is made hauntingly beautiful by it being a novel in verse. Hopkins mainly writes novels in verse on topics that are often hard to discuss: drug use, mental illness, prostitution, etc. This book is the first in a trilogy. It is made even more realistic and relevant when it's revealed that this book is based on Hopkins' daughter's own experiences with crystal meth addiction. Hopkins now has custody of her grandson and it's unclear if she even speaks to her daughter. My personal favorite by her is Burned if you're looking for another to read."
"uniquely written and an interesting read"
