"I forgot that I had only given this one 4 stars. I read out of order, which totally throws me off track. As I compare Wildfire and Wildcat though, I'm not too far off. It was second in line and is Cat and Jerrod's story. Cat is Dee's best friend and Jerrod is the new sheriff in town.
They still haven't caught the cattle rustlers but suspicion starts to fall on Cat's brother since they are losing less cattle then everyone one else. Cat and Jerrod's story really starts when he busts her watching some other people have sex through a peephole. lol That was pretty funny!
If possible, I probably would have given this one a 4.5. The scenes still weren't was fun as Wildfire but I would still highly recommend it for a great cowboy erotica read."
"Look. It's not that deep...

You wrote a book with a black heroine? Cool! Awesome, even! Representation is awesome!

But the part that makes me cringe is when you make race the CONFLICT!

Why!?

If it was white heroine, this would not have even been in the reader's radar.

This book was going to be 3star for me, even a 4star, but then we reached the climax.

The author made the main conflict of the story about the fact that the heroine is black and the hero's parents are racist...

Like, what?

What the ****?

I don't want to read these types of romance books.

Same reason I don't watch Slavery movies or television and movies that include "black trauma." The real world has enough of it to last me a trillion lifetimes.

This is contemporary for God's sake. I read a bunch of these with white heroines and race is never even mentioned, and the moment I pick one up with a POC heroine, her race is suddenly the main ******* plot?

Why did you have to ruin the story?"
"I really wanted to love this book. I had seen great reviews all over social media. Unfortunately, it was very overhyped. It’s a very cliche story and nothing really surprised me. I felt like I was constantly putting the book down and eventually I even stopped reading all together. Overall I liked the style of writing just not the storyline. "
