"this story is about a dancer named Misty Copeland, who has the perfect body for dance, but she has one problem, she is a black woman. Misty Copeland has moved many places to were her mom's boyfriends and husbands. Each husband or boyfriend doesn't get to stay with misty's mom for long. they then move to California.

misty is a black dancer who, was born into a poor family, and her mom would constantly gain a new boyfriend or husband when the last relationship didn't work out. prince is also black but is a singer, and his parents stayed together, and also wanted him to be a singer. on the other hand misty's mother didn't care what activities she attended in until she became serious in dancing. they did end up dancing together, and became good freinds

my opinion on this book was that it was one of the best books I have ever read, and knowing that it really happened was mind-blowing. this girl worked for her dreams to become a principle dancer, even though it took many years she never gave up on her dream to be a black principle dancer. I can kind of relate to her, I was told that I didn't have dancers feet, but I still got my pointe shoes. overall this book was very good and I loved it."
