It's intriguing from the start with short chapters and an immersive story. The pages get darker as the characters descend into madness, and I thought that was really cool. This book is heartbreaking and unsettling, and Jack and August deserve so much better than the adults in their lives. "I can’t recommend this book enough. Super underrated so you get to say you’re into indie stuff heh. It’s got that sort of distant, hazy writing style if you get me. Like everything is just a little nostalgic and sad. The perfect amount of pining. Also a pretty quick read. I loved it."
