The classic of child therapy. Dibs will not talk. He will not play. He has locked himself in a very special prison. And he is alone. This is the true story of how he learned to reach out for the sunshine, for life . . . how he came to the breathless discovery of himself that brought him back to the world of other children.

"I haven't finished this book. I left off on chapter 9 and have been thinking about everyday since I put it down. This book is extremely emotional, and interesting to me as I have continued to study Child Psychology. Miss A does an excellent job on narration, and leading the reader through her thought process, why she responds the way she does, and just overall did an amazing job. My favorite part of this book is reading it for the first time in 2023. When this book was written, they didn't have much insight on mental health like we do now. "
