"As a young white person this was a really hard book for me to read. I found myself really getting upset with how these people were treating the main character and it showed me a lot about how cruel the world is. As for the ending I cried big time but overall it’s a great story about not only race but friendship and family <33 "

I can proudly say that I recommend this to everybody. More than one lesson is taught and honestly this book deserves more than 5 stars. I'm just so struck by it that I don't even know what else to add. This book was so freaking extravagant. The characters, the time frame, the idea, the plot twist, everything.
