"I found Charlie and the chocolate factory strange, but also offering little life lessons here and there and somehow still being somewhat charming. <br/> I'm not sure how to describe the glass elevator. Bizarre. Random. But not so delightful. Almost as if Dahl decided he wasn't quite done coming up with things for Charlie to experience before his trip through and to the factory was complete and final. So be threw a few things in. But just omitting the second book wouldn't have been a great loss to the story."
