Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. "I ended up DNF'ing it at 80%.

I tried to stick this book out, but I couldn't. There were so many things I couldn't get past, and I will update my review later to reflect those things.

Update: It's been less than two weeks, and I already have problems remembering the characters and plot. The male main character (H) and the female main character (h) were so toxic to each other. First of all, H killed a guy right in front of h because the guy tried to SA her. Excellent plot point. We love a strong H who will do anything to protect his h. Unfortunately, our h couldn't cope with this and turned to alcohol. Instead of trying to help her, our H just dumped her and hoped she'd get her **** together elsewhere. She ended up with an abusive rival MC president and barely escaped him with her life. (This is all in the first few chapters, so I won't consider it a spoiler.)

<spoiler>Years later, her abusive ex is on the warpath, so she is summoned back to the MC where her father is the president, and her brother is VP. The H is a part of this club and is sent to retrieve her. Once she gets back, she starts acting a fool. She was raised in the MC, yet is acting like she has no clue why they keep club business private. The H is def verbally and mentally abusive. Not in a bully-to-lovers way, but a "ma'am, can I please escort you to a shelter" way. He doesn't even try to understand her alcoholism and is pretty cruel to her about it. It's just too much tbh.</spoiler>

I ended up DNFing it because it made me uncomfortable and was not giving me any enjoyment. It's almost 2022; we're reading for pleasure and aren't obligated to finish anything we don't enjoy. I may try to read some of the others in their series, but we'll see. People seem to enjoy this author, and I don't want to write her off because I didn't like one book.

Thanks for reading my novella of a review. May peace surround you!"
"DNF @ 30%
I like goofy stuff. I INTENTIONALLY picked it up because I heard it was a quirky kind of PNR romcom, but the amount of made up curse words (ass taco feast, **** taco, ****-tater, fuckrito, ass trumpet, etc) and random nonsense (the taxi service is a group of flying dildos) was so excessive it was distracting."
