"I really enjoyed reading this Star Trek mystery whose plot fills in a lot of the history in between most of the original episodes. The plot involves Kirk, Bones, and Spock going to Vulcan for a vacation. I was able to see the characters playing out this story in my mind's eye, as if it was a lost episode of the original series. Everything goes wrong after Sarek's wife Amanda has to have a special medical treatment. The treatment sets off a string of mysterious murders. A lot of the story involves Vulcan 🖖 culture, beliefs, and events that obviously happened after Spock's mating ritual. It was great reading the description of Vulcan home life and habits. As per usual with the original cast, the story has well-placed humour, drama, and is intelligent and well-written."
