"Fall is in the air so of course I have to listen to another one of Neil Gaiman's books. Yes listen because he narrates almost all of them and what is better than having an author tell you the story of how it is to be told while also being very good at it? I have fell in love with Neil's writing. He talks to you like you are a child but not in a condescending way. Like the world is a wonderful dark and scary place full of hope and love but also death.<br/><br/>Even so in not a fan of short stories. Some are fun but most of the concepts are beyond me. It doesn't mean that these weren't great, they just are not my cup of tea. But Neil sounds like he loved writing them so either way I enjoyed myself.<br/><br/>My favorites:<br/>A Calender of Tales: July everything made of books. October the Jinni with no wishes. "It's ok I'm good."<br/><br/>The Man Who Forgot Ray Bradbury: We would have to remember books to become them incase they were ever lost.<br/><br/>From the author: <br/>There. Consider yourself warned. There are so many little triggers out there, being squeezed in the darkness even as I write this. This book is correctly labeled. Now all we have to worry about is all the other books, and, of course, life, which is huge and complicated and will not warn you before it hurts you.<br/><br/>Thank you for coming. Enjoy the things that never happened. Secure your own mask again after you read these stories, but do not forget to help others. Neil Gaiman in a cabin in the dark woods, 2014"
"Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors. This collection is full of strange tales very well written and thought-provoking. If you can't take a world where there is room for big black ghost dogs and sleeping beauties, then stay away."

"I really need to stop listening to Neil Gaiman audio books. his narration Is atrocious. that being said I really liked all the stories in this collection, the rating I gave is based on the stories not on the person narrating the audio book. I especially enjoyed the final story Black Dog. Shadow seems to have a talent for finding trouble, and for making peoples plans go awry. can't wait to see what happens to him next."
