Emily Parker has a busy life over which she maintains iron-clad control. Raised by drug-addicted parents, she's used to taking care of the people around her, to the exclusion of her own needs. But not tonight. After years of celibacy, she's ready to pay for exactly what she wants: to surrender control, by having it taken away. Having worked as a high-priced escort for years, Nat Swayne not only enjoys her job--she's damn good at it. Dangerously sexy, she knows precisely how to fulfill the fantasies of women who enjoy her special brand of make-believe--all without ever becoming emotionally involved. When their night of intense play turns into something more, Emily and Nat can't help but pursue a connection in the real world. Unfortunately, old habits die hard, and love isn't always enough. Or is it?

"This cover is horrible and does not do justice to either Emily or Nat. Nat is basically a hard core butch with soft eyes and a tender heart, while Emily is basically a darling little math nerd who likes to be punished. So by those descriptions of the two main characters, this cover is fucken ****. It makes it look like two heterosexual women getting it on, which is basically for men and not women. And you would think I've learned my lesson by now not to judge a book by it's cover but nope! I didn't read this book for years cause of the damn cover and the idea behind just that. Not sure why no one can ever hint that maybe not all lesbians are not fem on fem, but I digress. The point is that I judged this amazing book on it's ****** cover and I should not have, because this book was breath taking in many ways. *wink wink*
The emotional depth these two have for one another is the kind you find in your soul mate, and made me giggly and happy cause the character growth was so obvious and lovely. Not only that, but they grow separately as their own people And together as a couple, which you rarely ever see done well, and this book hit the nail on the head. This really isn't a good review, cause I'm simply gushing over how much I love these characters, especially Nat, and how great the dynamic between the two was and how it just grew and grew over the course of the book.
There is one thing I would like to point out that I did not like, Emily's younger sister was annoying and a bitch through half the book, but luckily, she realized she was being both those and more, and changes her ways.
So ya, I'd say give this book a read if you love the tough as nails butch, with a heart of gold, and the nerd girl from hs all grown up, dealing with issues of being gay, to accepting once self, and learning how to love.
