"This is a 5 star read strictly based on vibes. The characters were a little one dimensional and there was some questionable spice but I devoured it none the less!! The banter in this book was so fun oh my gosh the mmc’s comments and comparisons were hilarious. His whole personality was so funny to me and I loved it! I know it was supposed to be a dark romance but the combination of the bubbly and menacing fmc and the grumpy controlling mmc was so entertaining. I also loved the side characters. This book is fluffy and the plot is no where near anything believable but it’s a billionaire romance when do they ever seem believable! I’d give this book a 2.75/5 spice level. There was some weird scenes but I don’t care in the slightest. "
"Waste of my time, actually...<br/><br/>**** plot.<br/><br/>Weak motivations on BOTH sides.<br/><br/>No character development.<br/><br/>Chemistry nonexistent.<br/><br/>**** nonexistent/not good.<br/><br/>Didn't even realize this was supposed to be some Beauty and the Beast retelling until more than halfway through, lol.<br/><br/>Flimsy attempt at being romantic, because I don't know when these two people supposedly "fell in love."<br/><br/>I just "metaphorically" turned the page, and suddenly they were in love...<br/><br/>Heroine was unique, I guess, but making her unique does not make me like her. She had potential, but the authors ruined it by making her weak and non-reactive.<br/><br/>The whole wanting to be a mother thing was annoying to begin with, because... like ew.<br/><br/>But she actually never did anything to show us how deep she really wanted that. Just kept saying she wanted it and had one scene where she went crazy over some couple's child.<br/><br/>I didn't care.<br/><br/>Hero told us a few times how he "desired, wanted" the heroine, but we never actually SAW that.<br/><br/>Show Don’t Tell is pretty much the first thing writers learn in writing school, but these 2 authors said, "**** that noise. We will TELL exclusively."<br/><br/>Now, the humor in this book deserves some props. Some parts had me chuckle, I have to admit.<br/><br/>I also didn't mind the pop culture references as much as some of the other reviewers I've seen complain about it. Although this will date this book exponentially. This book mentioned The Fall of Twitter, Kpop concerts/bands, Elon Musk among other current things, and as much as these are funny NOW, they won't be relevant 3 to 5 years from now and the humor will be kind of gone/outdated lmao.<br/><br/>But other than the decent humor, I regret listening to this.<br/><br/>Also what was with the backwards town where the heroine is from where the women had to stay virgins until marriage...? It felt so out of place in this supposedly "modern" story with this "mordern" heroine?"
"LOOOOORRDDDD it’s been a bit since I read this book and I still think about it. This book was SO DAMN GOOD! Way better than I originally thought it would be. Thank you TikTok for constantly putting snippets of their story on my fyp! I wish they came out with a sequel, I don’t wanna be done with their story when it only just begun😭❤️🔥"
"definitely a rollercoaster. and a SLOW MF BURRNNNNUHHHHH. i loved their banter and while i did get annoyed w how long it took for them to make up and finally love each other, when they finally did it was worth it. i will admit i cried PROFUSELY when i heard his backstory because it was mega sad and made sense as to why he was the way he was. but like overall i liked it a lot more than i thought i would. also i forgot i had this book so it was like a blind read when i finally did and the beginning threw for a WHIRL WIND. overall loved 😛"
