From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, Words of Radiance, Book Two of the Stormlight Archive, continues the immersive fantasy epic that The Way of Kings began.Expected by his enemies to die the miserable death of a military slave, Kaladin survived to be given command of the royal bodyguards, a controversial first for a low-status "darkeyes." Now he must protect the king and Dalinar from every common peril as well as the distinctly uncommon threat of the Assassin, all while secretly struggling to master remarkable new powers that are somehow linked to his honorspren, Syl.The Assassin, Szeth, is active again, murdering rulers all over the world of Roshar, using his baffling powers to thwart every bodyguard and elude all pursuers. Among his prime targets is Highprince Dalinar, widely considered the power behind the Alethi throne. His leading role in the war would seem reason enough, but the Assassin's master has much deeper motives.Brilliant but troubled Shallan strives along a parallel path. Despite being broken in ways she refuses to acknowledge, she bears a terrible burden: to somehow prevent the return of the legendary Voidbringers and the civilization-ending Desolation that will follow. The secrets she needs can be found at the Shattered Plains, but just arriving there proves more difficult than she could have imagined.Meanwhile, at the heart of the Shattered Plains, the Parshendi are making an epochal decision. Hard pressed by years of Alethi attacks, their numbers ever shrinking, they are convinced by their war leader, Eshonai, to risk everything on a desperate gamble with the very supernatural forces they once fled. The possible consequences for Parshendi and humans alike, indeed, for Roshar itself, are as dangerous as they are incalculable.Other Tor books by Brandon SandersonThe CosmereThe Stormlight Archive● The Way of Kings● Words of Radiance● Edgedancer (novella)● Oathbringer● Dawnshard (novella)● Rhythm of WarThe Mistborn SagaThe Original Trilogy● Mistborn● The Well of Ascension● The Hero of AgesWax and Wayne● The Alloy of Law● Shadows of Self● The Bands of Mourning● The Lost MetalOther Cosmere novels● Elantris● Warbreaker● Tress of the Emerald Sea● Yumi and the Nightmare Painter● The Sunlit ManCollection● Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere CollectionThe Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians series● Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians● The Scrivener's Bones● The Knights of Crystallia● The Shattered Lens● The Dark Talent● Bastille vs. the Evil Librarians (with Janci Patterson)Other novels● The Rithmatist● Legion: The Many Lives of Stephen Leeds● The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval EnglandOther books by Brandon SandersonThe Reckoners● Steelheart● Firefight● CalamitySkyward● Skyward● Starsight● Cytonic● Skyward Flight (with Janci Patterson)● DefiantAt the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.

"Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was great, epic, heartbreaking, inspiring and I want more!
It expanded in every way, the characters grew exponentially which I loved. Some of the interlude chapters were funky and one while I liked the character themselves they used a modern term that was jarring and out of place. I'm excited to continue. "
"I’m so glad to have continued this well written series so soon!! I was so ready to hear more about the main characters stories, and especially how they all merge together!!
Starting off with the knowledge of both the characters and the world of the previous book, made this one so much more easier to read and understand! I was able to quickly dive right in!
The pacing was slower than I would’ve liked it to be, however there was so much content within the book. So once I got to the end of the book the pacing made more sense.
The character arcs are where the book really shines! The transition in every character, even the minor ones from beginning to end are both surprising and so great. Once the hearts of the characters shift, so do their decisions. Which makes for the great conflicts and situations we read about with them!!
With constant mystery, engaging characters, and such great deep meanings-This series definitely one to be read!! It’s such an amazing world to dive into! A book I’d definitely recommend to anyone thinking about finishing the series✨"
"I liked this book almost as much as the first. My only problem with Brandon Sanderson is that he's a great world builder but an inefficient writer. The flow of dialog, descriptions, and the development of plot and characters could be a little more dynamic. He also needs to be barred from using the word "chips." All elements in this world come in varying denominations of chips. Now I'm a little hungry... chips chips chips chips chips chips chips chips chips."
"Enjoyed it. Though I always feel like Shallon’s backstory is a grind to get through. "
