"Character growth sweet and fun

3.75 star.

Tiffany surprised me with this one. Mostly with this genre the author always dives right in to the nasty bits. Rarely do you get a backstory or any type of depth from the characters. And world building I mean come on I shouldn't be so thrilled over trival things but it is so rare with smutt to be honest. It was nice to actually look forward to their meeting instead of having it thrown upon you in the first chapter. Also this is the first time I've seen the females of a species be the dominant one. I quite enjoyed that aspect and I appreciate an author who steps outside the social norms.

I'm always very skeptical about the Alien/human romance genre which by the way is one of my favorites. Just last week I calculated the percentage of how many I have read vs how many I actually liked. Obviously my like list was extremely low so I kept waiting to dislike this story. Then I noticed a lot of the normal boring tropes wasn't included which made this even more enjoyable....well except for the huge...haha well I don't want to spoil anything.

Back to character depth and analysis. We start with Ketahn who is somewhat of an enigma. He is very caring and strong but won't give up his happiness for the clan. So he is also quite selfish though as much as Ketahn has been thru it's difficult to fault him for it. Ivy has been thru much as well, both being outsiders. But she is capable and fun to read about. Ivy's high pitched scream when she first saw Ketahn might have been the best part of the book.

The character arcs were beautiful as well. Mostly Ivy who starts off small and begins to blossom in Ketahn's presence. Ketahn went from weaver to warrior back to weaver not understanding he could be both. So there was much chemistry here and the slow burn made it very sweet. The learning of one anothers languages is always heartwarming to me and in the instance hilarious.

Now all that aside what the hell is with the puss word? *sigh* Is it just me or is that the biggest turn off while reading. Also beware cliffhanger ahead."
"3.5 stars- I loved this book! I didn’t think I would be a fan of the spider body, but it worked somehow. I really like language barrier and alien meets human. I love when they touch the human in inappropriate places out of pure curiosity not knowing what’s going on. Ivy and Ketahn arguing is so cute!"

"If you like monster/aliens with good writing and a possessive MC, this is it. World building took the first few chapters, but it all comes together. It’s really a good read. Sci-fi, Romance, space travel. It’s all there if you like that sort of thing! FMC wasn’t a total loser and had likeable qualities rather than being a total damsel in distress. And hey there’s Some bondage that really kept my interest piqued! It was a yee haw of a spider ride. "

"Did I ever think I would be reading a story about a human woman and a spider like alien male? Nope. Do I have crippling arachnophobia? Sure do. Did I somehow absolutely love this book and breeze through it? Hell yes! This is another book where you need to just read it if you are not scared off by the synopsis. Can't wait to start the next!

SPOLIERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!

This book entails the story of Ketahn and Ivy. I love them both and their slow relationship. They interest in each other properly them to learn each other’s languages and about each other as well. It’s as so fascinating to learn the religion and political climate that Ketahn's species have. It is interesting that they are a society run by female leaders. It was also fascinating to see that like many insects, this is partially due to the fact that the females of his species are larger and stronger than their male counterparts. Part of me was absolutely confused about how I could love this book and the other half didn't want to put it down.
"
"This is one of those books that you just don’t tell anybody you’ve read. It follows along a budding romance between a girl and an alien spider man (and I’m not talking about Tom Holland.) This is a literal humanoid spider. Though I have a fear of large spiders and would sooner burn my house down than cohabit with one, I had no issues reading this book. In fact, I found myself wanting my own spider man to love XD"
