After a long and eventful life, Allan Karlsson ends up in a nursing home, believing it to be his last stop. The only problem is that he’s still in good health, and one day, he turns 100. A big celebration is in the works, but Allan really isn’t interested (and he’d like a bit more control over his alcohol consumption). So he decides to escape. He climbs out the window in his slippers and embarks on a hilarious and entirely unexpected journey. It would be the adventure of a lifetime for anyone else, but Allan has a larger-than-life backstory: Not only has he witnessed some of the most important events of the twentieth century, he has actually played a key role in them. Quirky and utterly unique, The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared has charmed readers across the world.

"DNF. I skip parts that go on too long that I'd rather not read and don't think are important. Not what I thought it was going to be. Right now I'm almost halfway through and having a hard time finishing. Have no clue what the 2nd book will be like. I gave in, I can't finish this book. I'm trading both books in. I'm not going to waste my time. "
"Loved it! That’s it."

"It does meander, but the humor is there in everything that happens. Similar to Forrest Gump, where Allan is accidentally involved in many historic events, and causes several of them. Allan's low-key personality makes it even funnier.

Not exciting or fast-moving, but a good read."
"If you like Frederick Backman you’ll enjoy this Swedish author as well! Reminded me of Thomas Berger’s ‘Little Big Man’. The adventures and people met in his 100 years make for s delightful tale!"
