"I did not know much about the start of the Vietnam War other than what I learned in high school. We learned about the atrocities, where it began, how the war progressed and the people in power during that period in time. I did not know much about the Pentagon Papers, Watergate, or even Daniel Ellsberg but I found this audiobook to be quite fascinating. I was horrified by the kinds of information that was not disclosed to the public and it makes me wonder how much of our governments classified information would affect our day to day lives. I would presume a lot. The worst part about these years was how much each president during this tumultuous time worried more about their chances at reelection than they were about the loss of lives, American and Vietnamese, in Vietnam. The lengths our governmentwould go to to keep this information and much worse information a secret is terrifying to contemplate. Steve Sheinkin is a brilliant author and I have enjoyed every book I have ever read by him! He writes about topics that don't get written about much and he writes in a way that keeps readers captivated till the very last. Highly reccommend to history buffs!"
