When the principal announces that every senior must participate in a mandatory year-long Marriage Education program, Fiona Sheehan believes that her life can't get any worse. Then she marries her "husband"--jerky jock Todd, whose cheerleader girlfriend, Amanda, has had it in for Fiona since day one of second grade. Even worse? Amanda is paired with Fiona's long-term crush, Gabe. At least Fiona is doing better than her best friend, Marcie, who is paired up with the very quiet, very mysterious Johnny Mercer.Pranks, fights, misunderstandings, and reconciliations ensue in an almost Shakespearean comedy of errors about mistaken first impressions, convoluted coupling, and hidden crushes.

"I wasn't entirely sure what to expect going into this one, but I have to say I really loved it! I thought it was really funny and not everything worked out like I thought (and I'm glad). The story was really well planned out and I lost myself in the pages waiting for the next thing that would happen. And there was always something interesting going on.

The matches in this couldn't have been more perfect. While things start out rough for some of the characters, things really evolve and some surprising things develop. I loved watching the transformation of the different "spouses" as they made their way through the marriage course. And it didn't affect just the students. It also seemed to affect some of the faculty, some more than others.

And it had more than just romance, it had a few storylines going on that really made the novel feel like you were living through it with Fiona, as she struggles with this new development and her life. This is definitely reread worthy and I definitely believe it is one of the better young adult novels out there. I'm glad I stumbled upon it and gave it a chance."
