"8/10 I’ve heard about this series for a while and so far it has not disappointed. They start by showing a teenage/young adult thorfinn battling with his comrades to obtain gold. Then they give you the whole backstory of thorfinn. Askeladd, a pirate was hired to assassinate thors (thorfinn’s father) for leaving his home of Norway and starting a new life in Iceland. His old troop came to Iceland and discovered he was still alive and asked him to come back home, but little did thors know assassins were waiting on his route to Norway. askeladd cheated in a duel and took thors life but let his crew and child (thorfinn) live. Thorfinn sneaks onto askeladd’s boat and hides until his comrades go back home. At this time thorfinn is a mere child and cannot take on a whole crew of pirates. This volume leaves us questioning what could possibly be next for thorfinn as he snuck on to the ship of the people who took his fathers life? We do know from the start of the volume that thorfinn now works with askeladd and constantly tries to duel him to avenge his fathers life. "
