"Sterling’s rich, magical world dazzles readers with its fantastic intricacies." —Richelle Mead, #1 international bestselling author of Vampire Academy and The Glittering Court seriesHannah's a witch, but not the kind you're thinking of. She's the real deal, an Elemental with the power to control fire, earth, water, and air. But even though she lives in Salem, Massachusetts, her magic is a secret she has to keep to herself. If she's ever caught using it in front of a Reg (non-witch), she could lose it. For good. So, Hannah spends most of her time avoiding her ex-girlfriend (and fellow Elemental Witch) Veronica, hanging out with her best friend, and working at the Fly by Night Cauldron selling candles and crystals to tourists, goths, and local Wiccans. But when a terrifying blood ritual interrupts the end-of-school-year bonfire and evidence of dark magic begins to appear all over Salem, Hannah's sure it's the work of a deadly Blood Witch. However her coven seems less than convinced, forcing Hannah to team up with the last person she wants to see: Veronica. With everything she loves on the line, Hannah will have to test the limits of her power if she's going to save her coven."Infused with page-turning suspense, bittersweet romance, shocking twists, and tragic turns, Sterling has written a standout debut." —Dana Mele, author of People Like Us

"These Witches Don't Burn is such a fun read! This is a YA fantasy / horror / contemporary blend, and I really enjoyed it. This story had several elements that reminded me of things I like about Buffy the Vampire Slayer (except focused on witches). I like the characters, and it seems like there's going to be a second book!

I wish the book would have had more to do with the setting actually being in Salem - I feel like there was a bit of a missed opportunity, but it still worked out well enough. If you're looking for a witchy (and gay!) book to read next month, this is definitely one to pick up."
"(4.5 stars) Witches in Salem but for the modern day and with queer representation. This was a fun book, the magic elements were cool and there were some good twists too. Also has a bit of a romance aspect-Morgan and Hannah worked really well together, but Veronica was so toxic… happy she improved a little, but she didn’t make up for all her wrongs. And how was the detective character so unreliable despite him being [REDACTED SPOILER]. I didn’t give this book a full five stars because it was missing something, it had wayyy more teen drama than witchy magic. Other than that, this was a pretty great read, I will definitely be picking up the sequel and maybe even the ebook exclusive prequel."
"Might actually change my rating. This could be a five star book for me, but five star books are my tried and trues that I've read at least three times. I can definitely see myself reading this over and over.
The characters were amazing, the story was full of some fun twists and turns, and went places I didn't necessarily expect. The relationships were all great, romantic and otherwise, and the main ship is honestly super adorable. I loved this book, maybe one of my favorites of the year. 10/10 would recommend ;)"

"Did not expect to love this book as much as I did, but here I am finishing it on a airplane ride, tears streaming down my face (the immediate sign of a 5 star read for me). Loved this book! I will admit, the beginning / magic system of the book was a little confusing to get a hang of at first, but after several info dump type paragraphs of it, I got it. Same goes for the many men mentioned in this book too.
Urban fantasy books are absolutely my favorite reads, so I knew I would love it. Add witches and sapphic witches to boot and I’m sold!
One critique I have is the death that occurred and the climax ending, but seemed a little rushed to me.
Other than that, I’m so looking forward to the sequel! Also so glad that I read “the coldest touch” before this, because I absolutely loved this more."
