A Cry in the Dark

Merry Hanson overhears a young woman arguing with a man in a car parked near her house. When the woman begins to sob, Merry rushes outside, but the woman and the car have already vanished into the night. Merry discovers a wicker basket cradling a newborn baby, and resolves to persuade her parents to adopt the baby girl. But now Merry faces the most difficult decision of her life.
