"*WARNING THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS* Uhhhh, to be honest Belly was annoying lol. So, to start off with I genuinely don't like books when they go back and forth with the past and the present, it just bothers me a lot. And that is what happened here and that is what I extremely disliked. I felt like between the different ages it didn't feel like she changed at all. It's like she still had this 10 year old mindset and it kind of sucked. I don't like the fact that she got mad at her friend Taylor of wanting Conrad then Jeremiah then hooked up with her brother when she basically did the same thing just with Cam replacing her brother. I watched the show first and it was really good, you know? But I definitely think they should've just stuck with the book 1 material for season 1. I don't feel like it's fair to try and compare which one is better. I definitely liked the ending of this book, I was like "Wait...what???!! I'm hoping book 2 is better and Belly isn't so self centered. Also, the people on the covers are ugly, I have the pretty ones with the shells and stuff lol."
"⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 I remember reading this book as a teen and loving it, rereading it …. It’s okay. I felt that Belly is an annoying teen and I didn’t remember the story going back and forth from the present to the past. I felt so bad for Jeremiah and Cam ): but I understand the “first love” mentality. It’s a very easy breezy read. I guess I’m just older now *shrug*. I’m still excited to read the rest of the series though! "
"This was a buddy read with Ana! I will say this right now, I know some people may not like this but speaking the truth... I am hands down Team Jeremiah. I ABSOLUTELY hated Conrad. I felt like he was very immature, and his feelings were all over the place.
Every summer Belly leaves her hometown to go visit the Cousins beach all summer. Belly loves this beach house and she has been head over heels for Conrad for the longest time. Belly has been picked on by Jeremiah, and Steven several times. She knows that one of these summers is going to be well worth it... when time least expects it! Susannah (Conrad & Jeremiah's mother) is like a second mother to Belly. These two can have deep conversations and secrets between these two but Belly doesn't have the greatest relationship with her own mother Laurel. Belly hasn't really had the greatest childhood life either. Laurel had got a divorce as well and throughout the book the kids find out that Susannah and Mr. Fisher are going through a divorce as well. Conrad and Jeremiah knew this way before Belly came to the beach house but Susannah never said anything because she also wanted the kids to have the best summer and make the most of it!
Susannah has been sick most of the summer and on top of going through a divorce she had recently found out that her breast cancer had came back. Laurel and Susannah are best friends. Belly knew that she would grow up and eventually want to hang out and do fun things with the boys. Well nights on the boardwalk with Conrad meant nothing. Jeremiah is Belly's best friend as well as her first kiss. Jeremiah and Conrad have seen the way she has grown up and has been slowly making friends in Cousins beach. Well what happens when Belly gets invited to a bonfire and meets a guy named Cam Cameron. Read the book to find out?!
Throughout the book, Conrad and Jeremiah both have feelings for Belly. Belly is struck dumb founded when she hears that Jeremiah likes her more than a friend. She would never "
