"I really like this series by S.M. Stirling. He is tending to get a little carried away in the descriptions of the scenery though. It tends to become long and drawn out, using names of flowers and plants that I, and I'm guessing most people, don't even know. My only other complaint is that he's tending to get more and more into the Wiccan rituals and beliefs of a large portion of the characters. I'm all for having a main religion in a story be something other than the usual. And in this story line, Wicca becoming the prominent belief system makes since. But, like the scenery, average readers don't need that much detail. It really throws off the pace of the story and starts to feel like filler.

But, as I said, overall, the storyline is great and I can't get enough of some of the characters. I feel like I have a vested interest in what happens to them."
