"Not my favorite book. I just wasn't really into it. I did listen to it which I was warned against, but I don't think that's the only reason I didn't really like it. Some of the verbiage was dumb, the MMC didn't do it for me... just a couple things that I wasn't excited about. Not sure if I'll read the next. "
"*WARNING THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS* Ummm okay, this one was good. First I would like to say that goodreads suck because I have the nice colorful "discreet" covers, you know the blue, yellow, red, and green ones? Well I guess those don't count as "currently reading" at least in my case. So if anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know! Anyways, I really loved the banter between these two characters(Alex and Ava). They were funny and made me laugh and giggle. Did they fall for each other kind of quickly? Maybe. But that's okay, I guess. There were some moments were I literally cringed and didn't want to read anymore lol, it sometimes felt like this story or writing came straight from the wattpad app lol! Especially when she confronted her "dad" and yet Alex had all this FBI, tape recorders, cameras, everything set up. Like sir, calm down! I wish we could have gotten some more time when she had her pain with her friends "Operation Emotion", it just went quick. Josh was pretty cool. But he came out of no where sometimes, if I'm correct about this, he shouldn't have been able to immediately leave his "volunteer work" that easily for a doctor in training basically. That or actually most of this is unrealistic. Alex and Ava's "romance" was...a lot in so many words. Especially in that apple orchids farm. Those poor apples man. They are scarred for life😂🥺. I did like how it took time for Ava to forgive him, but it should've been longer for all the stuff he put her and Josh through, and I agree with Josh not wanting to talk to Alex and be mad at Ava for taking him back so soon. When Alex decided to sing in front of everyone, I literally put the book down and didn't pick it for a few hours because, I got extreme second hand embarrassment. I could not handle that, please don't let there be more of that horribleness!! Also, I can see why people don't like this and why people do. It has both good and bad qualities to it lol. Good read and I can't wait for book 2!"
"Dual POV and available on KU. This series has been on my tbr for a while now. It definitely had some darker themes then anything I've read recently and I like that the plot took some different turns. I found a lot of the storyline surface level. I wanted more detail about the characters inner dialog. The spice in this book was good but based on how much people hype this book my expectations for the spice level were way too high. I'd say it was maybe a 3/5 🌶️. Overall I liked it but won't be in my top books. "
"I’m not usually one for romance, but this one had such an established plot that I really enjoyed it. I loved Ava and Alex, and I’m sad that the rest of the series doesn’t center around them. I’ll obviously read them anyway, because I loved Ana Huang’s writing, but one book just wasn’t enough. "
