Moments. Our lives are a collection of moments. Some utterly painful and full of yesterday's hurts. Some beautifully hopeful and full of tomorrow's promises.I've had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones-the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones-all included him.I was ten years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories. This is the story of a boy and girl who loved each other, but didn't love themselves. A story of life and death. Of love and broken promises.Of moments.(Book Three in the Elements Series. Complete Standalone.)

"This story was difficult to put down. Definitely my favorite by far in the series. The unpredictability was a breath of fresh air and Maggie the protagonist was very relatable. I wanted to like the things that she liked. Also her situation made the story unique and highly interesting.

Have to say I read this in one day. It was so intriguing I forgot where I was a few times. This book spoke to me. Why? Because the author put a bit of herself into it. For the ones who feel invisible. For the ones who want to retreat into themselves. It made me hold more tightly to what I have.

Mrs. Boone made me miss my grandmother dearly. I just really enjoyed this story. It was emotional and deep and scarily relatable. My only issue was after so many years she never learned sign language but she would write things. I feel like that wasn't much different."
"If you’re looking for an emotionally charged story that makes your heart ache and your tears flow then this is the book for you! I’ve found a new favorite author within these beautifully written pages. I have to thank @amandagrace_reads for the recommendation that lead me to my favorite read of this year so far. I think what I enjoyed most about Maggie and Brooks’ journey was the way they loved each other. Their friendship, communication, the understanding of each other and the support of one another is what made this the perfect love story. The supporting characters are also brilliantly written and easy to fall in love with.

“Five minutes to erase any fears. Five minutes to remember who we were. Five minutes to find our own way, our own story.”

“Not all broken things need to be fixed. Sometimes they just need to be loved. It would be a shame if only people who were whole were deserving of love.”

"
"I’m not sure where to begin with this. The first 3/4 of the book was so frustrating and repetitive. We get it, you can’t leave the house AND you can’t(won’t) speak. For 20 years though?? Come on. I know that she went through a traumatic experience, but this was a stretch. There were so many things that were unbelievable about the story line. How did she ever get any exercise? How was she so lean when she never left the house? How, when she said her first word after 20 years, did she go on long winded paragraphs seeming to speak perfectly with no impediment? Why did she not report a murder??? How do you not laugh out loud or cry out loud in 20 years?? I could go on, however, the last quarter of the story redeemed the whole book even though it was very predictable. There wasn’t enough of it though. I wish that the book would have touched on her checking off all of the things she wanted to do on her list. We want to see Brooks’ reaction to watching Maggie with all of her firsts. Oh well.

Also, if I hear the phrase, “all those years ago” one more time, I’ll lose it."
