NOW THE HALLMARK CHANNEL FILM THE MAGIC OF LEMON DROPS STARRING LYNDSY FONESCA AND IAN HARDING!“Heartfelt, heartwarming, joyful, and uplifting. You can't go wrong with a Rachel Linden book.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie MacomberAn uplifting novel about a heartbroken young pie maker who is granted a magical second chance to live the life she didn’t choose. . . . from the bestselling author of The Enlightenment of Bees. Lolly Blanchard's life only seems to give her lemons. Ten years ago, after her mother’s tragic death, she broke up with her first love and abandoned her dream of opening a restaurant in order to keep her family’s struggling Seattle diner afloat and care for her younger sister and grieving father. Now, a decade later, she dutifully whips up the diner’s famous lemon meringue pies each morning while still pining for all she's lost. As Lolly’s thirty-third birthday approaches, her quirky great-aunt gives her a mysterious gift—three lemon drops, each of which allows her to live a single day in a life that might have been hers. What if her mom hadn’t passed away? What if she had opened her own restaurant in England? What if she hadn’t broken up with the only man she's ever loved? Surprising and empowering, each experience helps Lolly let go of her regrets and realize the key to transforming her life lies not in redoing her past but in having the courage to embrace her present.

"Super cute book! Loved the light-hearted “Magic” of traveling to other dimensions or times. Cute moral of the story. The author did something very unique - she started a lot of chapters at present time, but then went back to the day or night before to lead up to how/why they are where they are now. Rather than just continuing on the linear timeline. I don’t think I’ve experienced that before!"
"“Find Your Bliss”

I loved how the author delivered one of many sayings we often receive into the warmth of family, baking and the magic of lemon drops.

Without giving too much away, the daughter of a bakery shop ran by her widowed father has the feeling she is stuck and will never be loved again. Until her aunt, gives her magical lemon drops that give her a chance to take a peak to see how her life would be different if she would have made different decisions.

As it turns out, she chooses the path she is on and realizes it’s never too late to follow your dreams."
"In a tasty twist Lolly shows the bitterness of past “what if’s,” coming to terms with missed opportunities, heartbreak and the undying need to let go in order to find your bliss. This book will take you on a journey of crisis, and new beginnings. Do not DNF"

"I was super excited to read this book because it sounded so good. I wasn't completely sure what to expect from it though, but it ended up being one of the best books I've read this year.
What caught me off guard with this one is that I ended up reflecting so much on my past, present, future, and my life in general and what I wanted in life, and how I felt about everything in my life. Suffice it to say that this book was very helpful for me personally in causing me to step back and check in with myself and look at everything. I found myself along with the character wondering are there any regrets or what ifs in my life that I would want to see what would happen differently if I took one of those magical lemon drop candies and my answer to myself was what I've always tried to tell myself/told myself but haven't been 100 percent with it when I've said it before now - But now when I was reading this and since reading this when I ask myself that question I can say with 100% conviction that I have no regrets to this point in my life - None. I was a little surprised with how at peace I felt when saying to myself that I had no regrets and I wouldn't need or want to use any lemon drop candies to revisit my past because sure I've had times when things didn't turn out perfectly or weren't ideal, but it's the way that it was meant to be for me and my path and I wouldn't want to change it because I wouldn't want to change who I am and where I am with everything now in my life even with the imperfect or hard things, which make me who I am.
So, okay, I went off a little there, but this book is deep and it causes you to reflect, think about the past, possible regrets, dreams, hopes for the future, and live in the present while being grateful and happy for what you did have and what you do have.
I very much enjoyed this book with the magical realism and what happens when she tries her 3 different what-if scenarios to see what would have happened differently with her 3 lemon drop candies. I also liked the perspective of her and her relationship with her sister and her family and everything. I figured out where the story was going and what was going to happen a while before it happened in the story, but I kept reading to make sure I was right, which I hoped I was. The way the story goes and what ends up happening with/in connection to the 3 what-if scenarios and lemon drop candies etc is another of the best parts of the book - perfect ending and I think I may have even squealed with delight at the end.
If you haven't read this, then you should check it out asap. You're missing out if you don't read this one. It's a heartwarming, deep, thought-provoking, emotional, and wonderful read.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for letting me read and review this amazing book. All thoughts and opinions are my own."
