"really fun read and cannot wait to read the rest of the series. i loved the characters a lot even though I mixed them up at times. i wish they would just explain the whole jenna thing lmao but yeah i really loved this. i dived into this from seeing small snippets of it when I was younger and thought that i should read the series now. def gonna watch the show after i finish it all :) rating the books as a series when I finish all of them. finished 2/26/22"
"I picked up this book because I couldn't figure out what to read. I expected it to be bad. That sort of trashy, sort of vintage literature you only get from 2000s YA. And yes, while it was trashy, and it has drama to rival the **** I see in my cafeteria. <br/><br/>Here's the thing. These characters are shallow as hell. But they are not badly written. That's what makes them so complex. Spencer could totally be considered a bad person in this point of the series. I don't know how she'll grow, but the place she's at now leaves so much room for development. Hanna and Aria aren't the best. Emily is the only one I really liked. <spoiler> I guess you could say she did kind of cheat on Ben. But I always pictured it as she was going to break up with him without kissing Maya anyway. It's still not great. But I can't say she's a bad person because of it. </spoiler><br/><br/>The mystery is cheesy. Honestly, it's like a bare bones thriller plot with nothing to add on, but it's entertaining. I was going to give it a two stars but that cliffhanger (which is equally cheesy) did convince me to be a little more lenient. <br/><br/>This book doesn't stick out. Not in my opinion, at least. It's something that if you read if you want to be occupied for a bit. I don't know if I'll read the rest of the series. Maybe if I get bored. It's fun. The shallow characters and even shallower relationships makes it seems like I'm watching an addictive soap opera instead of reading a young adult novel."

"It doesn't seem right to rate less than five stars. I enjoyed reading this. I plan to breeze through the rest of the series, depending on how fast I can check them out. I might just not rate it. I don't knowwwwwwww. It's in a weird grey area and I've been feeling weird. So the rating may fluctuate."
"This book is absolutely incredible, its my first time reading the series because I have only seen the show and I love the show. I love the book even more, there so much I got to learn about the girls that I never learned from the show so it was awesome to read more in depth about the lives of Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Hanna. I can't wait to continue on with the series."
