"MUST LISTEN TO THIS ON AUDIOBOOK! The narrators were incredible for each of the short stories. I’ve never been a short story fan, I don’t think I’ve ever made it through a full collection, but I was enthralled with every one of these stories.

And OMG it was so cool to listen to the short stories that The Broken Earth series and The Dreamblood Duology we’re born out of! If you like N.K. Jemisin then you’ll love this collection."
"I am new to the science fiction/fantasy genre and I am so happy that I picked up this book. It is amazing. I feel like I am definitely a huge fan of these genres after experiencing the many unique stories in this book. I definitely recommend this book to genre newcomers as well as those who are versed in the genres but want to experience a black author's perspective. I haven't read enough science fiction/fantasy to know if the author being black makes her perspectives unique per se but as a black person, I will say that the topics, the cities, the characters and their perspectives are familiar. I just loved this and recommend 100%."
