"I had most of the same problems with this book as with the one before it. Everything in terms of characters and storytelling was amazing. Which is why it destroys me that it fell so flat. Due to the way it was written, with so many different points of view that come out of nowhere and seem to spiral forever, this book was so hard to get through. One moment I would be enjoying the main characters, laughing at their banter, then I would be thrust into what felt like an entirely different story with characters that I had no connection to. It just destroyed the flow of the book. I would have rated this a 2 star, but i just couldn’t out of the admiration I had for the characters that this author wrote so well. TW: violence and vague allusions of sexual assault"

"I liked the series but the last book could have had so much more to it. She really should write more books to this. So much more could happen."

"The final book of this series had everything I was waiting for in the previous 2 books. My favorite of the series. "

"Warning: this review is tinged with bitterness. Also, I waited for others to finish the book first, but I'm starting to forget things, so...

Okay, Laini, we get it. These two very attractive people are destined for each other, but the fates of two worlds is at stake. People are conspiring against them, they are conspiring against themselves (for what beautiful person should ever be truly happy?), and lets throw some new stuff in for good measure. Because there never is a true ending to a war story, even if the war is over.

Okay, I'm going to say it. It's a crock of **** that Karou goes to Akiva's little hut by the sea at the end. Neither of them have a history there, all they have is a blanket. The Kirin Caves is where they belong. Dammit.

The writing is good. Of course the writing is good or I'd have stopped reading it because I knew I was being cheated out of a good ending. I can't even go back and reread the series because of how it ends. Such is disappointment."

"This is a high 4 stars, I just couldn't get into the first part of the book, because of the new character but I'm really glad that I pushed through and bought the audiobook and listened along while reading."

"Slow at times, but loved where she took the story. Very unexpected!"
