"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain. Only Em can complete the final instruction. She's tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present???imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside. Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America's most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James's life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina's hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was. All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

"Teens Em and Finn have been imprisoned and are now on the run from a repressive government that uses time travel as a weapon and a tool of social control. Their only hope is to travel back in time themselves to thwart "The Doctor", the sadistic, cold blooded genius who created time travel in the first place. Tragically, "The Doctor" is actually someone both Finn and Em once loved. Will they be able to kill a younger innocent version of "The Doctor" before time runs out? A gripping, heartbreaking suspense tale that asks some hard questions: how does a good person become evil, and do the ends ever justify the means?"
"There were parts of this that I really enjoyed once I got into it, but as an audio book, it was very hard to get into at first, especially as the whispers were almost inaudible and the shouts spiked badly. It was also odd that I was rooting for Em but I liked Marina's voice better."
"This was a riveting read. And really sad. Most of the story is figured out early on but it made for a great read. There are several stories that takes place in this, thanks to the time travel plot. Watching Em and Marina, it's easy to see how it would be hard to face this new task. I felt pulled into Em's side of things and how she was feeling and it made it hard even for me to accept the task she had at hand.

Em and Finn have failed 14 times that they know of before this new timeline starts. It's interesting with all that they change as they are back in time, how much they have to guess because they've changed the future a little bit. What I liked about this was they didn't have a new set of memories all of a sudden to make the story move along easier. They had to guess and figure out what was going on themselves since they are from two different timelines. I think this had a lot of thought put into it and enough creativity to not make it childish or dumb.

Overall, this was an exciting, emotional read. The ending was sad, but it felt right. I've only read a few time travel books and this one is definitely one of the better ones that I've read (and the first young adult one, I believe). With that in mind, this does read like a stand alone novel so I'm not sure how the sequel will work out."
