"This was the first Terry Brooks book I've read, and I just didn't really enjoy the writing style. The story itself was cool, but the characters were lacking and the writing felt very formal despite a setting that felt rather modern (advanced weapons, security cameras...) I finished it and it wasn't bad, but I don't feel inclined to read the other books in the series."
"Not the worst book I’ve picked up, but it was not an exciting read. I felt there was little character building, and I didn’t feel connected to anyone in the book. Sorrow, excitement, love, anger… I couldn’t feel any emotions the characters were having. I had high hopes from the book description, but it felt dry and extremely formal. It lacked creativity in the writing. Honestly, I will not be reading the sequel book and I wish I hadn’t spent as much time on this book as well. "
