"The rest of the series was such a fantastic premise and had fairly solid execution (aside from the desperate need for an editor), but this last installment just went waaaaaay off the rails. If the author had stuck with only telling the Beauty and the Beast part of the story instead of trying to stick in The Little Mermaid AND try to wrap up the series it would have been way better. The final third of the book was just weird and useless and the ends of everyone's arcs just rung false, even if it was nominally a happy ending. I just wish the author had listened to her husband to change the ending cause anything would have been better than that."
