"This is the third book in the Percy Jackson series. Percy receives a call from Grover who seems to be in trouble, he instantly prepares for battle. Along with his friends, they race to find Grover who has made a very vital discovery, two very powerful half blood children who have unknown god lineage. That’s not the only thing, the Titan lord Kronos is setting an evil trap that many heroes have already fallen victim to. This book introduces the Titans Curse and just what that means for Percy and his friends.
This book was one of the most action packed so far but mainly because it didn’t have movie influence for me. Here we are introduced to Thalia for the first time, daughter of Zeus. We are introduced to some more half-bloods and the Hunters, followers of Artemis (goddess of the hunt). I liked the introduction of characters and how their back stories fueled the storyline. Although most of it was predictable, it was interesting to see how they knit it together. This book has a lot more help from gods along the way as they are trying to complete the quest and keep the Titan, Kronos from rising. Luke is still causing chaos, and some refuse to admit that he can’t be saved. There are some things that happened in the book that did ultimately surprise me through the ending but it was an overall chill read. If you enjoy the idea of quests, battling monsters, and Greek mythology, it’s a good book! It allows the gods to be seen more like people, with emotions, feuds, and family problems. This not having a movie did make it easier to zone into and helped me to further dive into the storyline."
