"This book had me hooked, I really enjoyed it!
Mina has agreed to transport a yellow Parrot to another town to make some quick money. Unfortunately for her, her friend gave her bad directions. She ends up on the outskirts of the woods when her car dies. With no other choice but to walk on foot Mina heads into the woods where she eventually sees a woman leaning out of a building screaming at her to run.
The story was so interesting and well thought out, and I loved that new information pertaining to the situation was being fed to us slowly throughout the book. I had one of the main plot twists figured out about half way through, but it in no way took away from the thrill as learning the why was still to come. I didn't find the book scary but it did have a creep factor, and the end left me wanting more.

"The Watchers is a fascinating book by A.M. Shine. I actually saw M. Night Shyamalan's movie adaptation first, and then I had to read the book. The story is about the folklore of fairies, but not the tale we were told as children. It brings a dark realism to this fairy tale. The movie has a few scenes that are different from those in the book, but they shed a little more light on the scenes. I liked the clarification. No spoilers here. I will just say that the movie and book took me by surprise, piqued my curiosity, and gave me some suspenseful nights this October 2024."
