Millions of people have read, discussed, debated, cried, and cheered with Little Bee, a Nigerian refugee girl whose violent and courageous journey puts a stunning face on the worldwide refugee crisis. “Little Bee will blow you away.” —The Washington PostThe lives of a sixteen-year-old Nigerian orphan and a well-off British woman collide in this page-turning #1 New York Times bestseller, book club favorite, and “affecting story of human triumph” (The New York Times Book Review) from Chris Cleave, author of Gold and Everyone Brave Is Forgiven. We don’t want to tell you too much about this book. It is a truly special story and we don’t want to spoil it. Nevertheless, you need to know something, so we will just say this: It is extremely funny, but the African beach scene is horrific. The story starts there, but the book doesn’t. And it’s what happens afterward that is most important. Once you have read it, you’ll want to tell everyone about it. When you do, please don’t tell them what happens either. The magic is in how it unfolds.

"The first third of this book was really captivating. I was really enjoying the perspective of Little Bee and the hope she brought to the narrative. However, the book switches perspectives to Sarah and that is when the story begins to lull. Once the story is revealed on how the two met, there isn’t much left for the reader. Sarah is not a relatable character and overall unlikeable. You want to cheer for Little Bee, but the story is more centered around Sarah than the book’s actual namesakes the second half of the book was forgettable. 2/5"
"I really had no clue what to expect - the back really does not tell you anything about the story. I really enjoyed the chapters from Little Bee's point of view and found that she was a great storyteller. Cleave slowly and expertly released the plot with each chapter, but with the lack of description on the back, I was expecting more of a twist at the end."
"⭐️⭐️⭐️ I thought this book was okay. It was very thought provoking, but I thought there was so much potential that wasn't used. Very slow in some parts and then really fast. It was just not a book I would read again and again. For anyone younger or dislikes "spicy scenes" there are quite a few sex scenes and talking about sex, adultery, rape, etc. "
"I still emotional from reading this book and I finished it over 3 hours ago......what a beautiful book....funny....tragic....thrilling....frightening....heartwrenching....lovely. <br/>I love the character 'Little Bee'.....she is so wise beyond her years and so strong and beautiful....her short life is filled with horror yet she is one that knows how to love and give love.....she is so strong and does what she needs to in order to survive in her world.....Sara is another strong women who may not make the best choices......but when she does......she puts her best foot forward and works wonders. I found myself shrinking back in my seat at times from the sheer horror of what happens to these women.......and other times I just smiled......there is so much too this book and not enough words to describe it......it is definately going on my "Top 10 List".....a beautiful and haunting book....."
