"I don’t think I’m quite old enough to fully appreciate the beauty of a lot of classic literature. But I was able to appreciate Animal Farm, mostly because it’s so accessible. I was hooked from beginning to end. The fact that I got as attached to the characters of a 120 page novel as I do is insane. I felt helpless, angry, and sad when misfortune befell them. Especially Boxer who has the most tragic life of all. This book was written in response to actions from the Soviet Union, and it really put to light hard and suppressed topics in a accessible and easy way to understand. Animal Farm deserves all of the praise that it gets. I loved it. 5/5 stars. "
"listened to this he unabridged audio book and after all these years, the impact of the iconic final commandment and the last line is still strong. it’s easy to see where this was going (thanks to the lengthy opening prologue) but it’s written in such a great tone that by the end it does feel like the fairy tale that’s it’s subtitled to be."
