Followed the advice of other people that had seen this movie and went in blind......and really enjoyed it. What a great allegory of an abusive relationship, the power and control exerted over another is terrifying. 4/5 stars

Ryan I wish I had went in completely blind but I knew about the main character and the general tone. I still really enjoyed it though. I’d classify it as a dark comedy because Quaid was so hatable and weak that, even in the heavier moments, you always knew where the story would end up. It a fun, original movie. I’m curious what the writer/director will do next.

Anji Wiens Definitely not Quaid's best work, lol. But I do wonder if that was part of the point? Most abusers are that weak and immature in their relationships, making Quaid's character this over the top makes the point more obvious to the viewer.

Ryan I didn’t mean it was a bad performance. Pulling off being that pathetic and hate-able takes skill. It’s also kind of brave for an up and coming star to a play an abusive a-hole, you don’t want to get pigeonholed into those kind of roles.
