"4⭐️ Die Hard without the snark but all the adrenaline, chaos and claustrophobic desperation. Viola Davis is the action hero I didn’t know I needed. Anthony Rapp a close successor to a certain DH character. And Anthony Anderson solid in a straight dramatic performance (he surprised me)! The entire cast just works. I went in concerned the execution might be typical or shallow, however there is some depth and emotional resonance to the mayhem, tension and drama. Maybe even a bit earnestly which was fine with me. Though there’s nothing really unexpected in the action, such as action movies generally deliver, but the plot manages to tap into some extremely current happenings.. a story idea I’m sure developed well beforehand. Pretty crazy. I would’ve considered the events of this film completely unrealistic at one time but nothing would surprise me these days. It might’ve lent to the unique topicality of it reeling me in. There’s also a freshness to the casting, characters and execution that felt right, plus the glimpse into an alternate reality that might’ve been. All in all though, a bloody entertaining, violent, taut, tension filled movie! Once the body count starts it doesn’t stop.

"G20 is a perfect example of having to suspend disbelief. Nothing in this geopolitical action movie is even remotely realistic. There is production value in the cinematography and they obviously had a decent budget, but there are so many plot holes and ridiculous action sequences that the audience is expected to take seriously that it's too many to list and I don't want to even waste my time or words to describe. It's almost insulting as a movie enthusiast to be asked to take this movie seriously. 3/10"
"This is one of the least subtle movies I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t love it more. First off yes, it’s ridiculous. Think White House Down. But it’s also awesome. And it all starts with the unequaled Viola Davis. She plays the reluctant yet strong hero with nuance and power. Terrific supporting cast. Exciting, thrilling, good action. But what I liked best was the big F you of it all. "
"Love love Viola but this didn’t do it for me. Maybe because of too many Die Hard and White House Down overdone iterations "

"Die Hard at the White House.
Perfect popcorn action movie and perfect casting with Viola Davis being the strong, Independent, bad-ass woman president (Like she don't need Security Detail, the Security needs her!) and Antony Starr (This generation's Willam Dafoe I believe.)
The movie is predictable yes, but a really fun ride!
Recommend!"
